SELEC hosted a high-level meeting to strengthen regional Customs cooperation

The Southeast European Law Enforcement Center (SELEC) hosted a high-level meeting at its headquarters in Bucharest with the Director of the Customs Service of Republic of Moldova, Mr. Radu Vrabie, who was accompanied by his Romanian counterpart, Mr. Mihai Savin.

The discussions focused on strengthening operational cooperation among participating authorities, with particular emphasis on intensifying the rapid exchange of information, enhancing coordination in joint investigations, and maximizing the use of SELEC’s regional mechanisms in the fight against transborder crime.

During the meeting, the officials addressed the importance of consolidated efforts in preventing and combating customs fraud, smuggling, and other forms of illicit trafficking that pose risks to regional security and economic stability.

SELEC reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining an active and constructive dialogue with its partners and to further strengthening regional cooperation.
