SELEC hosted during 10-13 of September 2024 the “Drug supply indicators workshop for EU Enlargement Partners: Data collection through standard tables and workbook” organized by the European Union Drugs Agency (EUDA).
During the opening speech, Mr. Romulus Ungureanu, the Director for Operations of SELEC, said that “Collecting, collating and processing more information regarding the drugs smuggling is one major priority of all the agencies engaged in countering this crime. In addition to the already developed SOP, use of new technologies and tools, it is important as well to enhance the partnerships and cooperation agreements between various players. Therefore, we are looking forward to our future cooperation with EUDA and to further develop a strong and efficient framework for supporting countering of smuggling of drugs. “
Presenting EUDA’s data collection framework on drug supply and markets, improving the capacity of the EU Enlargement Partners to collect security drug-related data, exchanging practices on data collection and reporting flows concerning drug supply at national level were the objectives of the workshop.
The representatives of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Kosovo*, Republic of Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia and Ukraine participating at the workshop were engaged in several practical exercises related to drug seizures, drug purity/potency, composition of drugs, a/o.
EUDA is the leading authority on illicit drugs in Europe, providing independent scientific evidence and analysis on all aspects of this constantly changing drug-related threats.
