On 22 of June 2021, Director General Mrs. Snejana Maleeva received at the SELEC Headquarters the visit of the Ambassador of Switzerland in Romania, H.E Mr. Mattli Arthur, who was accompanied by the Federal Customs Administration Attaché for Bulgaria-Romania-Republic of Moldova, Mr. Nicolas Meldem and by Mr. Raphaël Wirth, Diplomatic Officer.
The challenges that the region is facing as regards organized crime have been discussed, Mrs. Maleeva mentioning that cybercrime is the crime area with the uppermost boost in the recent years, especially during the COVID 19 pandemic. She also mentioned SELEC’s current priorities and presented SELEC’s capabilities and tools in combating transborder serious and organized crime in Southeast Europe.
The possibilities of further enhancing the cooperation were also tackled by the parties during the visit.
Switzerland is a partner to SELEC having the Observer status since 2018.
