A smuggled cigarette is not just a cigarette. Cigarette contraband finances organized crime, corruption, and affects future generations.
We at SELEC (Southeast European Law Enforcement Center) created the “Romania/ Greece/ Turkey Against Contraband” initiative under the project FAIT (Fight Against Illicit Trade), project financed by PMI IMPACT- a global grant initiative by Philip Morris International to support projects dedicated to fighting illegal trade and related crimes.
We wish to make the subject of cigarette smuggling more visible to people, so that together we can fight not just the effects, but also the cause of the problem.
The social media awareness campaign is supported by the Romanian Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Hellenic Ministry of Citizens Protection.
