SELEC has signed a Letter of Intent with InfoCons- European Organization for Consumer Protection

On the 29th of July 2024, SELEC signed a Letter of Intent with InfoCons – European Organization for Consumer Protection, with the view of joining efforts in combating infringements of intellectual property rights.

The Letter of Intent between the two organizations was signed by the Director General of the Southeast European Law Enforcement Center (SELEC), Dr. Oğuz Serkant Akın, and the President of InfoCons, Mr. Sorin Mierlea.

This document sets the framework for collaboration in the areas of mutual interest, for exploring appropriate and effective practices aimed at strengthening both parties’ efforts to combat counterfeit products in the SELEC Member States, for raising awareness and discourage violations of Intellectual Property Laws, and for developing and implementing joint projects and/or programmes.  

InfoCons – European Organization for Consumer Protection was founded in 2003 with the goal to protect the rights and legitimate interests of consumers, to develop programs and projects in order to achieve these objectives, to protect consumers against the risk of purchasing and using products of questionable quality, to inform consumers about products that could endanger their health, and to encourage fair competition.
