On the 1st of August 2024, Mr. Oguz Serkant Akin, SELEC’s Director General, and Mr. Romulus N. Ungureanu, Director for Operations, received at the SELEC Headquarters the visit of Mr. Viorel Doagă, Acting Director of the Customs Service of Republic of Moldova, who was accompanied by Mr. Andrei Șeremet, Acting Deputy Chief of Anti-Fraud and Compliance Department and Mr. Veaceslav Burus, Customs Liaison Officer posted at SELEC.
During the meeting, current developments on major transnational crimes, particularly cigarette smuggling, were discussed, and views were exchanged on ways to increase operational activities and to combat customs’ frauds.
Republic of Moldova is a founding member of SELEC.
