On the 28th of May 2025, the Australian Federal Police (AFP) delegation headed by Regional Commander for Europe, Africa and the Middle East, Mr. Christopher Woods visited SELEC being cordially welcomed by Mr. Romulus Ungureanu, Director for Operations and Ms. Tanja Levajkovikj, Director for Legal and Internal Affairs.
The meeting focused on strengthening operational cooperation between SELEC and AFP in preventing and combating all forms of international and cross-border crime in Southeast Europe and beyond.
Parties expressed their commitment to deepening the partnership through enhanced information exchange, joint participation in Task Force meetings, and active engagement in operational initiatives.
Australia was granted Observer Status with SELEC at the beginning of 2025.
