Greek Ambassador to Romania, H.E. Ms. Lili-Evangelia Grammatika, Pays Courtesy Visit to SELEC

SELEC had the honor of welcoming, on the 24th of June 2025, H.E. Ms. Lili Grammatika, Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic to Romania, for a courtesy visit. During her visit, the Ambassador met with Director General, Dr. Oguz Serkant Akin.

Ambassador Grammatika confirmed Greece’ strong support for SELEC and emphasized the organization’s important role in enhancing regional security.  Referring to the recent remarks made by the Greek Customs Administration  representative at the latest SELEC Council meeting held in May, the Ambassador expressed her optimism that, alongside the current Police Liaison Officer, a Customs Liaison Officer would be assigned to SELEC in the near future.

Director General Akin expressed his appreciation for the active involvement of Greek law enforcement authorities in SELEC’s operational work. He underlined the importance of assigning both Police and Customs Liaison Officers by Member States, noting that such contributions strengthen the organization’s effectiveness and foster law enforcement cooperation across the Southeast European region. Mr. Akin also emphasized SELEC’s commitment of holding this year the Container Security Task Force Meeting, coordinated by the Hellenic Republic, expressing confidence that it will deliver practical and meaningful outcomes
