The Director General of SELEC, Dr. Oguz Serkant Akin, and the Director for Legal and Internal Affairs, Mr. Jovan Peshevski, had a meeting today, 5th of March 2026, with the Minister of Interior of Republic of North Macedonia, Mr. Pance Toshkovski.
During the meeting, enhancing the cooperation between the Ministry of Interior and SELEC, as well as strengthening coordination in the fight against cross-border organized crime in the region, were discussed. Special emphasis was placed on operational cooperation, information exchange and organizing joint investigations between the police services of the Member States of SELEC.
Minister Toshkovski reiterated that the Ministry of Interior remains actively committed to regional cooperation, and using all available mechanisms to combat more effectively organized crime and criminal networks.
It was emphasized that Republic of North Macedonia actively participates in the work of SELEC, both through the involvement at operational level, as well as through the organization’s supreme decision-making body, the SELEC Council.
Republic of North Macedonia is a founding member of SELEC, currently coordinating the Financial and Computer Crime Task Force.
