Australian Ambassador pays courtesy visit to SELEC, reinforcing continued partnership

On 19 of November 2025 we welcomed the courtesy visit of H.E. Ms. Alison Duncan, Australian Ambassador to Greece, Romania and Bulgaria, accompanied by the representative of the Australian Federal Police.

During the meeting, SELEC’s Management provided an overview of the organization’s latest operational achievements, joint investigations, and strategic priorities in areas such as drug trafficking, cybercrime, human trafficking, and financial crime, as well as the activities conducted in the framework of SEEPAG, the judicial network functioning under SELEC’s auspices.

As an Observer State, Australia has maintained a productive relationship with SELEC, engaging in information exchange, capacity-building initiatives, and joint activities that address emerging cross-border threats. Both sides underlined the importance of continued cooperation, especially given the increasingly complex security landscape and the need for rapid, reliable law enforcement collaboration.

The visit served not only to reaffirm Australia’s support, but also to explore opportunities for deeper engagement in the coming years.

Australia joined SELEC, as an Observer, at the beginning of 2025.
