Workshop addressing the links between Terrorism and Organized Crime

Antalya/ Republic of Turkey,  November 4-5, 2013 – An workshop having the topic “The links between Terrorism and Organized Crime” took place in Antalya/ Republic of Turkey on 4th – 5th of November 2013. The event was jointly organized by United Nations Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate (CTED), Southeast European Law Enforcement Center (SELEC), Turkish National Police, Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) and RACVIAC Centre for Security Cooperation.

The workshop brought together the representatives of South-East European and Central Asian law enforcement agencies, as well as international, regional and sub-regional organizations and partners. SELEC was represented by Mr. Gürbüz Bahadir, Director General, and Ms. Snejana Maleeva, Director for Legal and Internal Affairs.

The purpose of the workshop was to provide a forum in which the representatives of Southeast European countries, international and regional organizations and mechanisms discussed regional trends regarding the links between terrorism and organized crime and shared good practices and challenges in that regard, with the overall aim of enhancing regional cooperation in this area.
