Description:Bucharest, October 29, 2013 – A delegation from the Romanian Special Joint Commission of the Chamber of Deputies and Senate for Romania’s accession to Schengen Area, headed by Mr. Laurentiu Tigaeru Rosca, Vice President of the Commission and Deputy, paid today a visit to the SELEC Headquarters, being welcomed by Mr. Gürbüz Bahadir, Director General of SELEC, and Mr. Cristian Duta, Director for Operations.
The Commission was set up in June 2013, having the role to support, at parliamentary level, the activities of Romanian Government and of other public authorities in order to fulfil the conditions required by the European Commission and the member countries of the European Union for Romania’s accession to Schengen Area.
During the meeting, there were discussions about illegal migration, visas, police and customs cooperation against trans-border crimes, being underlined Romania’s efforts and commitment in order to follow the Schengen rules.
