On the 5 and 6 of March 2024 the Director General of SELEC, Dr. Oğuz Serkant Akın, visited the Albanian law enforcement authorities.
During the meeting at the headquarters of the Albanian State Police, the General Director Mr. Muhamet Rrumbullaku thanked the Director General of SELEC for the support that the organization is providing to the officers of the State Police, in organizing and carrying out activities, such as the operational meetings with the law enforcement authorities of SELEC member countries, cooperation which takes place through direct contacts of the officers of these agencies.
The focus of the meeting with the General Director of Albanian Customs, Mr. Genti Gazheli, was exploring the modalities of further enhance the cooperation with the Albanian Customs Administration. The leaders discussed to increase the cooperation between member states with the aim of improving the fight against all forms of transborder crimes, as well as to facilitate cooperation in Southeast Europe, which is the main mission of SELEC.
During the visit in Albania, Mr. Akin had the opportunity to meet Ms. Aida Hajnaj, the Director of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). Ms. Hajnaj expressed the intention and willingness of NBI further enhancing the cooperation with SELEC. Mr. Akın stated his belief that this cooperation would strengthen SELEC and have positive consequences for Albania as well.
