The 23rd session of the SELEC Council

The 23rd session of the SELEC Council took place on the 30th of May 2023 at the SELEC Headquarters in Bucharest/Romania, with the participation of the distinguished Council members from SELEC Member States, Partners, as well as SELEC Management, Liaison Officers and members of the Staff.

The meeting was chaired by Ms. Albina PAJENGA, Director Risk Analysis and Monitoring Directorate, Albanian General Directorate of Customs and Ms. Seda GUNDUZ, Head of Department, Turkish General Directorate of Customs Enforcement, as Republic of Albania holds the Chairmanship of the Council for the year 2023 and Republic of Türkiye the Vice-Chairmanship.

Mr. Oğuz Serkant AKIN, Director General of SELEC, welcomed the participants and presented last year’s achievements, as well as ongoing issues, such as the request of Slovak Republic to become Operational Partner and the last successful SEEPAG Conference marking its 20th anniversary.

The items of the agenda consisted in presenting the 2022 Annual Report, the Annual Action and Working Plan for 2024, budgetary issues, as well as amendments to some rules internal of SELEC.

The Council is the highest decision-making body of SELEC consisting in high-level representatives of SELEC Member States, having the authority to take decisions.
