Bucharest, April 20th, 2016 – The Director for Operations of SELEC, Mr. Romulus Nicolae Ungureanu, participated at the Closing Conference of the Project “Model of Good Practices in providing assistance services to victims of Trafficking in Human Beings”, event organized by the Romanian National Agency against Trafficking in Persons (ANITP).
During his intervention, Mr. Ungureanu affirmed that SELEC sustains any initiative, project or action that aims enhancing and/or consolidating the capacities of assisting the victims of trafficking in human beings. In the framework of the Task Force Mirage on Countering Trafficking in Human beings and Illegal Migration, SELEC supports and coordinates trans-border joint investigations, throughout the previous year 24 related joint investigations being organized under SELEC’s umbrella.
The conference gathered experts in the field, representatives of the Council of Europe and other main actors actively involved in combating trafficking in persons.
Mr. Ungureanu stated that: “The assistance of victims of human beings trafficking, from the moment of identification until finalizing the judicial procedures, represent a component of the fight against trafficking in persons and an expression of public policies’ sustainability”.
