Illicit Trade in South Eastern Europe

The Director General of SELEC, Mrs. Snejana Maleeva, participated at the 1st High-Level Regional Strategic Dialogue (RSD) on Illicit Trade in South Eastern Europe organized by The Siracusa International Institute during 5-6 December 2018 in Siracusa/Italy, with the participation of high level representatives from Republic of Albania, Republic of Bulgaria, The former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, France, Romania, SELEC, EUROPOL, INTERPOL, United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and World Customs Organization (WCO).


During her intervention, Mrs. Maleeva presented the activities of SELEC against illicit trade, as well as the regional challenges, priorities and opportunities in the fight against illicit trade in South Eastern Europe.
The RSD was organised within the framework of the project, ‘Strengthening the Fight Against Illicit Trade in South Eastern Europe’ (SEE-IMPACT), which is supported by PMI IMPACT-a global grant initiative of Philip Morris International.


Also SELEC currently implements a project supported by PMI IMPACT, namely project F.A.I.T- Fight Against Illegal Trade, that aims increasing the operational capacity of SELEC and its Member States in order to create an efficient response in fighting against smuggling phenomena.
