Director General, Dr. Oguz Serkant AKIN, represented SELEC at the high-level seminar of the Cooperation Group of South-East European Airports against Drug Trafficking (AIRSEE), organized by the Pompidou Group of the Council of Europe and the Bulgarian Customs Agency on 9th of October 2024, in Sofia/Bulgaria.
Officials from 12 countries and territories gathered at the High-Level Seminar in order to discuss new strategies to combat illicit drug trade via air routes.
During his intervention, Director Akin stated: “As the crime has increasingly taken on a transnational and organized character in today’s globalized world, the fight against it requires more coordinated cross-border activities of law enforcement forces. Regional and international cooperation, in this sense, is of vital importance in ensuring and improving public safety and creating more stable environment.“
