The SELEC Management received on 8th of March 2022 at the SELEC Headquarters the visit of the US Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) headed by Mr. Patrick McElwain, Assistant Director for HSI International Operations.
An extensive presentation of SELEC and its activities was done, with a focus on the joint investigations and regional operations coordinated by SELEC.
The Homeland Security Investigations representative mentioned that SELEC provides valuable resources in the region, and they’ve expressed their intention to enhance the work done by SELEC, by bringing their resources and investigations here and deploying a temporary liaison officer to SELEC, as well as by establishing of a Regional Bureau of Investigations in Romania.
During the visit it was highlighted the importance of establishing a cooperative collaboration between the institutions as regards international relations.
United States of America is a long-standing partner of SELEC, currently having the status of Operational Partner.
