BUCHAREST, October 25th – 26th – High officials and representatives of the Members States have been reunited on 25th – 26th of October 2011 in the 1st session of the Council of the Southeast European Law Enforcement Center (SELEC).
Starting 7th of October 2011, the Convention of the Southeast European Law Enforcement Center (SELEC) enters into force and the SECI Center became SELEC.
The Council is the supreme decision-making body of SELEC and consists of high level representatives designated by each Member State.
On the occasion of its 1st meeting, the SELEC Council took decisions on important issues, such as its rules of procedure, organizational chart, new SELEC logo and the election procedure for managerial positions.
At the same time, the Council members decided to respect the principles of continuity and solidarity regarding the participation of the Signatory States still being in the course of ratification of the SELEC Convention in all administrative and operational activities of the Center.
The 1st Meeting of the SELEC Council was chaired by Mr. Dimitar Georgiev, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Bulgaria.
The next meeting of the Council will take place on 18th of January 2012.
