Security within the European Danube Region

The Director General of SELEC, Mrs. Snejana Maleeva, participated on 3-4 July 2018 at the XIV Meeting of the Steering Group of the Priority area 11 – “Security” in the framework of the European Danube Region Strategy (EUSDR).

The meeting was attended by the Priority area Coordinators, representatives of EUSDR Member States, partners and stakeholders, and members of the Coordination Bureau.

The roadmap towards the revision of the EUSDR 2010 Action Plan, as well as presentation of project successfully implemented in 2017, establishment of the new Danube Strategy Point and further activities envisaged to be developed were discussed during the meeting.

The EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR) is a macro-regional strategy adopted by the European Commission in December 2010 and endorsed by the European Council in 2011. The Strategy was jointly developed by the Commission, together with the Danube Region countries and stakeholders, in order to address common challenges together. The Strategy seeks to create synergies and coordination between existing policies and initiatives taking place across the Danube Region.
