Bucharest, May 19, 2015 – A delegation from Republic of Moldova, consisting of Mr. Oleg Bǎlan, Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr. Gheorghe Cavcaliuc, Deputy Head of General Inspectorate of Moldovan Police, and Mr. Viorel Tentiu, Deputy Director of International Police Cooperation Center, paid today a courtesy visit to SELEC premises, being welcomed by Mr. Gürbüz Bahadir, Director General of SELEC.
Mr. Bahadir presented the activities of the Center – its mission, capabilities and perspectives and underlined the valuable contribution of the Republic of Moldova to the operational outcomes, especially in the fields of human trafficking and cigarette smuggling. On the other side, Mr Bălan reassured the readiness of the Moldovan Ministry of Internal Affairs to continue and strengthen the law enforcement cooperation, as well as to provide full support to SELEC’s efforts in combating trans-border organized criminality.
