Director General of SELEC met the Serbian Minister of Interior

Director General of SELEC, Dr. Oğuz Serkant Akin, met at the Palace of Serbia, on the 22nd of April 2025, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior H.E Mr. Ivica Dačić, in order to discuss avenues for enhancing regional cross-border cooperation.

Minister Dačić noted that one of the priorities of the Serbian Police is the detection of organised crime groups, and thus great importance is attached to the development of cooperation with other police authorities from Southeast Europe through more effective and rapid communication and operational data sharing.

Director General Akin, on the other hand, stated that SELEC has been resolutely continuing its active endeavors to contribute to the security in the region for over 25 years, and thanked the police forces of Serbia, a founding member of the Center, for their active participation throughout the years.

Both sides acknowledged the importance of SELEC to international police cooperation, as it contributes to better coordination among the law enforcement authorities, and strengthens the security of the region and Europe.
