SELEC signs the Memorandum of Understanding with European Judicial Network

A step forward in enhancing the cooperation at judicial level was taken today with the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding with European Judicial Network (EJN), at the SELEC Headquarters, in Bucharest, in the presence of the SELEC Management and the Head of the EJN Secretariat, Mr. Hugh Dockry.

The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding represents an important landmark towards strengthening institutional cooperation, fostering mutual understanding, and establishing a structured framework for long-term collaboration. It provides a formal basis for bringing together the respective expertise, networks, and resources of both organisations, while creating opportunities for greater coordination and more effective joint initiatives.

SELEC and EJN are long-standing partners, mainly through the judicial network functioning under SELEC auspices, the Southeast European Prosecutors Advisory Group (SEEPAG).

EJN plays a crucial role in facilitating and strengthening judicial cooperation in criminal matters between EU Member States and partner countries. Its primary mission is to make cross-border judicial cooperation in criminal matters faster, more effective and practical by connecting judicial authorities through a network of national contact points
