During the 27th SELEC Council session, held on 21st October 2026, in Bucharest, the elections for the position of Director General of SELEC were successfully concluded with the election of the Romanian candidate, Ms. Madalina Sorina Vlangar.
The candidates were Mr. Artur Beu, from Albania; Ms. Madalina Sorina Vlangar, from Romania; and Mr. Miloš Sretenović, from Serbia.
Ms. Vlangar is a senior law enforcement and diplomatic professional with a long experience in fighting against organized crime and international police cooperation.
On this occasion, Dr. Oğuz Serkant Akın, current Director General of SELEC, was presented with a Certificate of Honor in recognition of his valuable contribution to the development of SELEC during his mandate.
