The Director for Operations’ visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina law enforcement authorities

In the first half of March 2026, the Director for Operations, Mr. Chavdar Georgiev, conducted an official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, accompanied by Mr. Predrag Mirnić, Police Liaison Officer at SELEC. During the visit, he participated in a series of meetings with high-level representatives of law enforcement institutions across the country, such as Directorate for the Coordination of Police Bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Federal Police Administration, State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), Indirect Taxation Authority of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ministry of Interior of Republic of Srpska, and Directorate of the Police of Republic of Srpska.

During the meetings, Mr. Georgiev provided an overview of SELEC’s recent activities, while discussions also focused on the potential expansion of operational partnerships and updates regarding the activities envisaged under SELEC Task Forces; the parties exchanging views on current threats and challenges in the Western Balkan region.

As an overall note, the participants to the discussions agreed that the current international security environment has a negative impact on the European security, underlining the need for more efficient information exchange and enhanced coordination of joint operations.

The Director for Operations of SELEC also participated as a trainer in a beneficiary-level onsite course on firearms-related crimes for police officers, customs officials, and prosecutors, organized by CEPOL in Sarajevo.
