SELECíS AWARDS GRANTED TO LAW ENFORCEMENT AUTHORITIES FOR THE SECOND SEMESTER OF 2015

SELEC Bi-annual Awards Committee decided to grant the following awards to the law enforcement authorities from SELEC Member States for the second semester of 2015, as an appreciation for the successful joint investigations conducted and supported by SELEC, as follows:

First prize

Operation FRENKLIN is a joint investigation in the field of manufacture and distribution of forged currency involving the competent authorities from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, Romania and Serbia, which led to the arrest of 27 persons, seizure of 32,000 EUR and around 2400 pieces of forged 100 USD bills.



Operation GREEN ARROW is a joint investigation in the field of drug trafficking involving the relevant authorities from Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey, Ukraine, and also BKA and DEA. The investigation succeeded with the arrest of 4 persons, seizure of 333 kg heroin and 136,000 EUR.

Second prize

Operation KASHMIR is a joint investigation in the field of migrants smuggling involving the competent authorities from Hungary and Serbia, which led to the arrest of 33 persons suspected of smuggling more than 600 migrants, and seizure of firearms, drugs, and more than 360,000 EUR.

Operation CADDY is a joint investigation in the field of drug trafficking involving the law enforcement institutions from Bulgaria and Romania, which led to the arrest of 3 persons (including the leader of the organized criminal group) and seizure of 16.5 kg heroin.

Third prize

Operation TENACIOUS is a joint investigation in the field of migrants’ smuggling, involving the authorities from Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania and Turkey which led to the arrest of 16 persons, 25,000 EUR being seized and almost 180 migrants being detected and assisted.



Operation VODNO/CHEMA is a joint investigation in the field of drug trafficking involving the competent institutions from Albania, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Serbia and Turkey, which led to the arrest of 17 persons and seizure of different types of drugs (marijuana, heroin, cocaine).

Special diploma for the Operation ART/ZNACKA, a joint investigation in the field of documents forgery involving the competent law enforcement authorities from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Serbia, which led to the a brought against 11 persons and seizure of forged official documents.
